MLK Jr. Day 2009

Hello Oles,

DCC is officially kicking off the New Year with Martin Luther King Jr. Day (it's 3 days worth of events actually). There will be awesome events, prizes and cake! Below I will list the calendar of events. I encourage you come out and support DCC (by attending the events).

Opening Ceremony: Friday, January 16 @ 5:30pm in the Crossroads

Poetry & Open-Mic Nite: Saturday, January 17 @ 8:00pm in the Lion's Lair

"The Great Debaters": Saturday, January 18 @ 6:30pm in Viking Theater

Chapel Service w/ Guest Speaker :Monday, January 19 @ 10am

MLK Birthday Celebration: Monday, January 19 following Chapel in the Crossroads (There will be food).

Happy Merry Hanukwanzalucianoel !!!

DCC is done for first semester!! Exciting right? Thanks to everyone who has attended any of our committee's events this semester. You're support and presence is greatly appreciated.
Look out for MLK Jr. Celebration during Interim 2009 (I heard there might be freebies) and most importantly...Happy Holidays !!!

Africa Weeks

Hey everybody!  We're right in the middle of Africa Weeks 2008, "The Beauty of Africa."  If you missed the opening ceremony and panel discussion, don't fret, there's still more to come.  

On Monday, November 10 at 5:30 pm, Professor Mbele will be telling folk tales in Valhalla,  so bring your caf trays and listen to some great stories.  Also, On Saturday, November 15 at 7 pm, come to Africa Night with many spectacular performances and special guests in Dittman Studio One.  The last even for Africa Weeks will be the closing banquet on Sunday the 16th at 5 pm.  You can sign up ouutside the caf during lunch and dinner so you can sign up to attend this last event with speaker Bernard Mpagazihe.  

I hope you can make it to some of these events.  I assure you they will be very informative and lots of fun.

Diwali

Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 7pm in the Pause Mane Stage.

Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights. Admission is FREE and open to EVERYONE. For tickets, sign up outside of the Caf during lunch and dinner.

There will be food, performances and other fun !!! Come make the best decision of your life.

Native American Weeks 2008 !!!!

Hello Everyone ! I just wanted to let you all know that DCC is currently celebrating Native American Week (October 16-31). I encourage everyone to attend the events, I'm sure you'll find something that catches your eye (or dream). Below I've listed a few of the upcoming events. Look forward to seeing you there.

Come here an alum discuss her life as a contemporary Native American woman. There will be dinner, followed by a discussion and Q&A. This will be the best!
